Westell Modem (Port Forwarding Configuration)
1. Click OK to accept it as a Host Device
2. Select the Configuration Menu and select Services
3. Select the define custom service button and a dialog box should appear
4. Select Port Forwarding Ranges of Ports and Next
5. Enter “GSSDVR†in Service Name text field.
6. In the Global Port Range Entry, input the range “80-80†(Note: If port 80 is occupied by another service, please input an available port)
7. In the Base Host Port, input “80†(Note: If port 80 is occupied by another service, please input an available port)
8. Select the TCP protocol
9. Select Add to map following ports (Please use steps 5-7 for reference):
Global Port Range: 3550-3550
Base Host Port: 3550
Global Port Range: 4550-4550
Base Host Port: 4550
Global Port Range: 5550-5550
Base Host Port: 5550
10. When finished adding ports, select Close to accept the inputted information.
11. Click OK to accept it as a Host Device
12. Return to the Services Menu
13. Select the Service Name drop down list box and scroll down to the previously customized service GSSDVR
14. Click Enable to add the service and a dialog box will pop up
15. If the IP address of the GSS Server is not recognized in the Host Device entry, please enter the IP address in the following text field.
16. The GSSDVR service should be added to the service list
Remote Desktop Configuration
• Router Settings:
Add new service “Remote Desktopâ€.
Follow the same instructions above (Port Forwarding), but this time use only port “3389â€
• Remote Computer Settings:
Right click My Computer
Select Properties
Select the Remote tab
Check Allow users to remotely connect to this computer
Note: By default, the local users who are apart of the Administrator Group are permitted remote access; otherwise create additional users as members of the Remote Desktop User Group
• Local Computer:
Go to: Start ïƒ All Programs ïƒ Accessories ïƒ Communications ïƒ Remote Desktop Connection
The Remote Desktop Connection dialog box should appear.
Click on the Options tab
Enter the IP address of the remote computer in the Computer Name text field
Enter the Username and Password
Note: At the remote location all users must be logged off to avoid remote access conflicts.
GSSDVR Webcam Configuration
Click the Network button
Select Webcam Server and a dialog box should appear.
Select the Server tab make sure the correct ports are used
(Note: By default, HTTP:80; Command Port: 3550; Data Port: 4550)
