Step 1: Find out the default camera settings by removing the top and look at the two switches. (The default setting should be Channel 1, Pelco D @ 2400 Baud rate)

Step 2: Connect the BNC to the GeoVision card and power on the camera to make you get a video feed. (Please use Camera 1 on your GeoVision for your PTZ)

Step 3: Install the drivers for the GV-COM device. To see if your GV-COM device is installed properly go to Device Manager (Windows Start -> Control Panel -> Systems -> Hardware tab) find and expand the Ports tab to see if "Prolific USB-to-Serial Bridge" exists.

Step 4: Connect the GV-COM with the camera (via R-485 wires from the PTZ) and USB and serial cable (RS-232) to the computer.

Step 5: In the GeoVision software, go to System Configuration and look for the PTZ Control section to the right. Click the checkbox for PTZ Device Setup and click on the draw down menu and find 'Pelco Dome' protocol. Then click the 'camera' button above the menu and check the 'activate' box and select COM4 as the Com Port, 2400 as the Baud rate, and select Pelco D as the protocol.
Hit Ok twice to exit out of configuration menu and open the PTZ menu on the right side of the panel. Test all the functions of the PTZ using the navigation panel that appears on the left.

(The following steps are optional, only require for control via Webcam)
Step 6: Click on the Network button on the GeoVision software and select Webcam server. If it wasn't checked prior a Server Setup window will appear. Go to the Video tab and click on Allow PTZ camera and make sure Camera 1 is checked. Hit Ok twice to exit.

Step 6-a: Go to the tool button (the third button on the main screen) and choose Camera Mapping PTZ. Select the right camera channel where the PTZ is located. Choose the Messoa protocal for that PTZ.

Step 7: Find out the IP address of the DVR machine by doing one of the following:
a) If you are connecting to the DVR with the PTZ locally click Windows Start -> Run and type in 'cmd' then press Enter -> type ipconfig and press Enter on the DVR machine to find out the IP address.
b) If you are connecting to the DVR with the PTZ remotely open an internet browser on the DVR machine and goto http://whatsmyip.org/ and copy down the IP address.

Step 8: On the same or a different computer type out the IP address of the DVR machine in the Address box of an internet browser and press Enter. A menu page will appear then select MPEG4 Encoder Viewer and install the necessary ActiveX modules. A panel similar to the GeoVision software will appear with a login prompt. Once logged in, click the PTZ control button on the right and test the PTZ functions.
