You can export a certain time period within a video event and play it back at the place where Viewlog is not available. The max length of the exported file is 1 hour. It is also possible to view files recorded from Geovision on third party systems that do not have Geovision installed. You can also merge a video and an audio file so that on playback, it will play both the sound and video at the same time. Here are the instructions for exporting videos as well as creating an AVI file that has the video and sound merged.
1. Click on the View Log button on the bottom right hand corner. It is to the right of the configure button. Then click on "Video/Audio log (F10)." Or, you can also press F10 to bring it up.
1. Located a desired file from the date tree and video event list.
Optional: If you would like to merge multiple video files into one file, then hold down the Ctrl key to select multiple video feeds to be merged into one video file.
2. Right click on a selected file, and click oln "Save Avi File (S)"
4. Drag the timelines to define a starting and ending time of the file.
5. Click the button [......] on the bottom right of the window, in the Set Location section, to assign a saving path.
6. Then click on the Setting tab on top, next to the Avi View tab.
7. Click on your desired settings, but in the "Normal" box area, make sure the "Save As Exe" box is checked. This makes the video file an executable, and when ran on a third party computer, it will install the necessary codecs for video playback on a non-GV system.
- If you would like to merge an audio file with the video, There should be an Audio Export: with a drop down box where you can specify which audio file you would like merged with the video file.
8. Click Ok
You have now created a file ready to be viewed on any computer. If merged with the audio, the video and audio will be one file and sychronized. The file can be burned to a cd-r, sent via internet, jump-drive, or any other transfer method.
