If you are having rebooting/freezing problems, try this:
In the systems configuration, try changing your panel resolution to 1024x768 resolution and see if it fixes the problem. On the new 8.01 system, 1280x1024 is the default, but if you're running 1024x768 (like most systems) then you may be running into compatibility problems
