He has good communication from his laptop through the device, and the register has been successfully tested with another brand of data capture on another DVR system.



So do you have anyone who could tell us if the Sharp ER-A410 is on the GeoVision compatibility list?

To be real honest, if the hyper terminal test works then it should be working, and our tech support is probably going to ask them to test the same thing. Since the client was able to see it on the laptop through hyper terminal, it is probably some setting on the DVR that are not done correctly.
