Version 8.2 is the standard software included with the GV Card. It is able to connect up to 8 GV-IP channelswith out additional cost, but to add up to 8 x 3rd party IP camera, purchase of GV-NVR is required, please refer to notes for
additional detail. These GV-IP channels may be from GV-Video Server, GV-IP Camera, or GV-IP Mega Pixel Camera.
GV-NVR (GV)
GV-NVR (GV) is pure software, purchased separately, that will support only the GeoVision IP solutions such as GVVideo
Server, GV-IP Camera, and GV-IP Mega Pixel Camera. It is sold by number of ports in 4 channel increments up to 16 channels max. When purchased, a USB key that activates the software will support the number of channels purchased.
GV-NVR
GV-NVR is also pure software, purchased separately, that will support up to 16 channels of IP cameras from the compatible IP camera list. It is sold in 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 16 channels. It also uses a USB key that may be upgraded remotely.
Hybrid Solution
Under a hybrid solution, mixing analog channel with either GV-IP, 3rd party IP camera, or both, please purchase GVNVR corresponding to the number of 3rd party IP camera being used. In the environment where only GV-IP cameras are used, GV-NVR or GV-NVR (GV) is unnecessary. For example, 14 channel DVR with (6) analog channels and (4) GV-IP channel and (4) 3rd party IP camera. You will need a DVR card supporting at least 6 channels plus a GV-NVR-04 to support the 3rd party IP camera, and the GV-IP channels are supported by the Geovision version 8.2 software.
Under hybrid solution, the maximum IP channels, whether is GV-IP, 3rd party IP camera, or combination, are 8channels. For example, if 8 x IP channels are used in conjunction with a 12 channel DVR Card, 4 of the channels from the 12 channel card are obsolete.
USB Key Upgrade
USB Keys are upgradeable by connecting to GeoVision server via internet. A serial number is provided for each USB
Key. When upgrading, the serial number information is necessary for the upgrade.
