With help from another Geovision card supplier I found a couple of problems that were within the version 8.1 and 8.11 that caused video stability problems as well as allowing the macine to cut off. The main problem was with windows xp which I was able to delete some files and replace them with new codec utilities to get the system to run as normal. I tested the system software with the above version of geovision as well as version 8.0 and 8.1 upgraded to 8.2. I have contacted Microsoft to learn how to disable the files that are causing the problems. It is no doubt that will all of the Geo cards running on machines this will become a huge issue. Most people just dont know that their machine is re-booting hundreds of times a week unless they monitor it. Any way, my problems are fixed and I have 10 servers built and ready to go out the door.
I have never encountered this issue. Our capture cards have been out in the market for a long time. It has been stable.
The only reason I can think of will be hardware compatibility issue.
It will be great if we can get the computer spec from this customer so I can provide them the analysis and suggestion.
