Q: How to setup email alert for stand alone DVR?
A:
1. Not all the stand alone DVRs have email alert function. Please check the manual and verify your DVR has email alert.
2. Go to "System Setup"->"Network Setup"->"Email Address", and then input your email address.
3. Go to "System Setup"->"Network Setup"->"SMTP Setup"
(1) Go to "Email via SMTP" and turn it on.
(2) Go to "SMTP Server" and input your smtp server address.
(3) Go to "SMTP Port" and change the port accordingly.
(4) Go to "SMTP Username" and input your username for the smtp server.
(5) Go to "SMTP password" and input your smtp server password.
4. Go to "Event Setup"
(1) Turn on "Event Icon" and "Event Notice".
(2) Go to "Per Channel Config" to turn on the events (Video Loss; Motion) triggering the alert so that the system would send out emails when the events happen.
5. Go to "Shut Down" and reboot the DVR. Then you should be able to receive emails when the DVR sends out alerts.
Thank you very much .
