The NUUO Network Video Recorder (NVRMini) is a sophisticated device that lets you do Remote Live View, Remote Playback, and recording of IP video cameras without any DVR system involved. The NV2040 takes 2 Hard Drives and supports 4 IP cameras, but the NV4080 takes 4 Hard Drives and 8 IP cameras. The NVRMini can also record on motion, send alerts to email or CMS. It has management and FTP ports. The NVRMini runs Embedded Linux Operating System so it is free from Viruses and hacking.

The NVRMini Package comes with the device, software CD, accessories and instructions. It will not come with Hard Drives unless you ordered with it. Putting the Hard Drive (all are SATA) is easy as screwing it to the plastic frame and sliding it in the slot. Install the CD software on one computer and configure fixed IP address for the NVRMini by running the "Install Wizard" in Start Menu. The NVRMini will also initialize Volumes. For remote access, do a Port Forwarding in the router if there's one in your network.

Now it is time to add cameras to the NVRMini. Open Internet Explorer, type the IP address of the NVRMini and login. On the left menu, click on "IP Camera" and select "Camera Settings". You can either click on "Camera Search" or add them manually under "Camera Settings". Camera Search requires UPnP framework enabled on Windows and the camera - click the Plus sign on the right to add camera. The IP cameras should have been already configured for fixed IP addresses, motion detection, etc. You may click on "Camera Status" for their status. After adding all your cameras, click on Live View on the top left of the page. You should have video streaming.

Next, configure recording and alerts by clicking on "Recording Settings" on the left menu. Go to the "Recording Schedule" Tab and select "Day". The Start and End time are from 0-24hrs. Go to "Recording & Event" on the left menu. Click on "Event & Action Management" and hit the Plus (+) sign on each camera to check those boxes. Next setup "E-mail" alerts if you need them.

Under RAID & File System go to "Protocol Control" and enable both Windows and FTP sharing. "Network Setup" lets you change IP address and default ports of the NVRMini. The "Management" link lets you manage users and see log events. The "System" link will let you see system information, health, and be able to upgrade firmware.

The links on the top of the page: Settings | Live View | Playback | Logout - include remote Webcam and Playback.

Next, I will attach step by step visual view of NVRMini settings guide.
