This is in regards to using GeoVision software.

To view your DVR camera(s) remotely through a 3G phone, PDA, or smartphone you will first need to enable this option on webcam server. This is done on the DVR side, through the main system interface.

You will find this when you click on the network button, then choose "Webcam server". You will then see a tab labeled "3G". Once you enable this option you will see by default port 8854 is assigned, which means you need to open that port via port forwarding on your router.

Once this is complete, you can use the webcam feature via web browser on your 3G device. If this does not work, there are three PDA viewer device applications (located on the GeoVision CD) that you can install on your 3G device. Each one varies and is designed for a particular 3G device...

- PDA Viewer for WinCE

- MS Smart Phone Viewer

- Symbian Smart Phone Viewer

You will need to consult your 3G device user manual to find out how to install one of these applications. I should note that 3G devices with Windows Mobile 5.0 does not require one of these applications.

Also when you log onto the webcam interface (from your 3G device), make sure you check the "JPEG viewer" option....do not check the MPEG option.
