Main differences:
Data Capture V1 has a parallel port, while the Data Capture V2 has a serial port, which is a 9 pin or 25 pin.
So if your DVR system only has a parallel port (the longer port, nicknamed "printer port", then you need to get the original data capture card. If you have a serial port and would like to use that, then get the Data Capture V2.
