The thing is some customers wants integrate POS System for text insertion to Surveillance.
And I have a question about this: Do you know if Geovision has, or thing to put the feature to Capture Text From Printer
with a small routine (software-network) working from each computer and transmit information to Surveillance Server through network, instead of run SERIAL CABLEs from each computer to the server?
No I have not seen such a feature available thru GeoVision's software. Infact I have not see just a feature elsewhere. This is mainly because the printer is designed to recieve information and print it to a physical medium (paper). You can use HyperTerminal and have the data sent thru the comm port and save the read outs on HyperTerminal to a text file, that can be then accessible thru the network.
But as I mentioned before, such a feature is not available.
Data capture has a V2E version, and there is a Ethernet plug in. What is that for? thanx!
.... Infact I have not see just a feature elsewhere. ....
Yes, I do. In fact, since that company still not full known in the market yet, but they do have that option.
Manufacturer asked me to send them information about any software (POS) to know how they can pull information sent to the printer, because most of POS Software control printers directly.
However, Since I know Geovision very well, and I trust in a long term Surveillance System in the market insted someone is already starting, I'll be so glad to help you.
I know more than 10 most known POS Software in the market, at least here in Florida. So any question, let me know.
Yes, you are correct! There is no software to capture the IP so far.
"??
" this one still does not capture the IP/network package"
What that means?
O... You mean there is not software resident routine yet that capture
information straight from pc WITHOUT hardware?
Is that what you mean?
I'm ok for now you have at least the hardware version so far.
Do I have to buy a GV Box f/each pc I want to Capture Data?
Do I have to put a static (or dynamic) IP to this box besides IP for the
station? Right?"
