How could user figure out the "Garbage Text" on the screen when user uses POS System or Cash Register?
Ans:
When user key-in the transaction event on the POS System or Cash Register, but the transaction event show up the Garbage Text, please check following steps first.
1. Check the baud rate on the GV-Data Capture and the POS application setting in GV-Series; make sure the baud rate setting is the same with user’s POS System or Cash Register’s printer.
2. Make sure all the POS application settings (Including Baud rate, Data Bits, Parity, and Stop Bits) are the same with user’s POS System or Cash Register’s printer.
3. If user’s POS System or Cash Register’s printer is not belonging to Epson, please choose “Generalâ€Â.
4. Make sure the POS System or Cash Register is using the same language with the operation system and GV-Series.
5. If user uses Parallel Port to connect GV-Series, but the screen still shows up the Garbage Text, please upgrade your GV-Program to Version 6.0.2.0.
6. If user uses Parallel Port to connect GV-Series, but the screen lost some words or events, please make sure that user is using GV-Data Capture Version 1.02B.
7. Currently we support text mode only. If user’s POS System or Cash Register sends the message by image or graphic mode, the GV System will show up the Garbage Text on the screen because we could not compile them to text mode.
If the previous steps still unable to solve the Garbage Text problem, please follow the instructions below:
Please send the E-mail and tell us the problem, then we will reply to you with a program "TracePOS.exe", please copy this program under the GV-Series file folder.
Run this program "TracePOS.exe" without GV-System.
