What kind of null modem cable do I have to use to connect my MOBOTIX camera with another device (e.g. a PC)?

There is no specifically prescribed wiring for a null modem cable. When you buy or create such a cable, make use that it has the correct pin assignment.
The MOBOTIX camera expects a null modem cable with the following pin assignment:

You shouldn’t use any other pin assignment.
Note: Using a null modem cable between the camera and a PC is only advisable in certain cases: e.g. when the connection to the network has to be made using PPP via the serial interface instead of via Ethernet.
Note: The serial interface, the switch input and switch output cannot be used with the MOBOTIX Basic and Web models.
