Why can the camera no longer be accessed after a number of hours when connected by DSL router even though the DynDNS entry is correct?
ANS:
When connecting a camera by DSL router the DynDNS functionality of the camera cannot be used because the camera does not receive any information in this case as to when the link is disconnected and a new IP address is assigned subsequently. The camera only updates the DynDNS entry after restarting. This means that the DynDNS entry has to be updated in this case by the router. Automatic updating of the camera IP for the DynDNS service by the router is supported as of November 2006 by practically all contemporary router models. The DynDNS functionality of the camera is intended only for connection through an ISDN dial-up connection.
