How can I log into a camera that is protected by password without a separate dialog window for password entry opening?
ANS:
In principle, you can directly log into a camera with any Internet browser by following the link http://user_name
assword@camera-IP.
However, this option has been disabled for the Internet Explorer by the Microsoft security update KB832894 from February 2, 2004.
Users are forced in this case to enter the user information by hand for each displayed camera, which is not very user-friendly.
This action can be avoided by making an entry to the registry. The registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_HTTP_USERNAME_PASSWORD_DISABLE
must be created for this purpose. The following DWORD value must be entered in the registry key:
iexplore.exe
and its value set to 0.
