2.5 Video Storage Location
* For detailed instruction, refer to p.9 of v8.3 User Manual
* Please note that for IP camera recordings, it is necessary to distribute no more than 4 megapixel IP cameras per hard drive due to current hard drive recording speed limitation. For 640x480 and 720x480 recordings, no more than 8 cameras per hard drive. Recording more cameras than allowed will reduce hard drive’s life span while creating error messages in the system.
- In Multicam, click on the “Configure” icon.
- Select “General Setting” -> “System Configure”.
- Under General tab, click on “Set Location” button in the middle then select “Storage Group Folder”.

- By default, Storage 1 is created with all the cameras saved. To add a new storage, follow the steps below:
- Click on “Add New Storage” button.
- A new storage location should appear.
- Check on the cameras which will be stored in this new storage. (Please note that one camera can only be saved into one storage location)
- Click on “Add New Path” button. In the Select Path window, select a folder located in the new hard drive. (If this is a new hard drive, create a new folder first in this hard drive through My Computer prior to this step).
- The new path should appear along with available disk size.
- Repeat steps a to f to add more hard drives.
- To remove extra storages, select the storage then click on “Remove Storage” button.
- To remove extra paths, select the path then click on “Remove Path” button.
- Click “OK”.
- Click “OK” again to finish setup.
