Installation note:
Before installing MEGA NVR 2.2, please read following instructions carefully to
ensure successful installation.

1. Prepare the target machine
Due to the license protection, you should install MEGA NVR 2.2 on your target
machine only. Please confirm your target machine has the right equipments and
operation system as follows:
  • NVR Standard HW Spec requirement: (for CIF/D1 IP Camera)
    • CPU: Pentium Intel Dual Core E7400 2.8GHz or above
    • RAM: 2GB
    • Operation System: Windows® XP professional SP2/SP3 or Vista(32Bit)
    • Display: nVidia chipset which support DirectX3D
    • Minimum resolution: 1280x1024, but 1680x1050 is recommended
    • Storage: Need two physical Hard Discs at least. One is for operation system, the other one is for storage. The storage hard drive will be erased before using for recording.
    • Windows Component: Message Queue (you will need to have Windows® XP
      CD-ROM to install this component)
  • NVR High-end HW Spec requirement: (for MegaPixel IP Camera)
    • CPU: Pentium Intel Core2 Quad Q9400 2.6GHz or above
    • RAM: 4GB
    • Operation System: Windows® XP professional SP2/SP3 or Vista(32Bit)
    • Display: nVidia Geforce 9500 Display Card or above
    • Minimum resolution: 1280x1024, but 1680x1050 is recommended
    • Storage: Need two physical Hard Discs at least. One is for operation system, the other one is for storage. The storage hard drive will be erased before using for recording.
    • Windows Component: Message Queue(you will need to have Windows® XP CD-ROM to install this component)


    1.1 Preparation for Vista System
    1.1.1 Click the Start button -> Control Panel, and then open Performance
    Information and Tools.

    1.1.2 Click the Adjust visual effects


    1.1.3 Choose Adjust for best performance then click "OK" button



    1.1.4 Open AutoPlay


    1.1.5 Uncheck the Use AutoPlay for all media and devices and save


    1.1.6 Turn on Microsoft Message Queue (MSMQ) Server feature by going to
    Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Turn Windows features on or off


    1.1.7 Check ALL MSMQ Options and save


    1.2 Preparation for Windows® XP
    To install 'Message Queuing', see the following steps:

1.2.1 In the Windows desktop, click 'Start' -> 'Control Panel' -> 'Add or
Remove programs'.
1.2.2 An 'Add or Remove Programs' dialog shows. Before continuing, load the
Windows Setup disc.
1.2.3 Click 'Add/Remove Windows Components'.


1.2.4 When the 'Windows Components Wizard' dialog shows, check the
checkbox of 'Message Queuing'. Click 'Details' button and a 'Message
Queuing' dialog appear.


1.2.5 In the subcomponents list, check the 'MSMQ HTTP Support' item.
1.2.6 Click 'OK' to continue.


1.2.7 In the Windows Component Wizard, Click 'Next' to continue.


1.2.8 In the 'Files Needed' dialog, input the source directory. (Make sure the
source directory is correct.) If the source directory is uncertain, click 'Browse'
to select the setup directory.
1.2.9 Click 'OK' to continue.



2. Install software
Insert the CD and the installation program will run automatically. After successfully installing the software, double click the shortcut "MEGA NVR Manager" on desktop to launch the program. System will pop up 2 dialogs that notice you the software is a trial version and ask you to register on-line.

If you prefer using the software first, please click "OK". Then you have free 7 days trial operation within 4 channels. If you already generate an application form(*.dat) for acquiring valid license, please click "on-line register".





3. Generate the application form file for acquiring the license
After login, click the icon tool image icon on the upper banner to enter the configuration mode.


Right click the "HD NVR". You’ll find "modify HD NVR" (or double click "HD NVR") and then click it to go to "License control" tag. Next, click "license management". Please input the CID key printed on the bag of CD‐ROM and your email both in the "License Control" dialog.



Click "Generate" in the dialog. The program will generate an application form
(*.dat). Please save the file and prepare to upload to MEGA NVR website to apply
for the license.

4. Register on website and upload the application form
Click "Online Registration" in the "License Control" dialog. The installation program will automatically open a browser and connect to the registration website (http://www.empowermegapixel.com).



Please register your own profile to get a set of login information. After login, please click "License Application" and upload the application form (*.dat) from a following grid and then click "summit". Be noted you must login the website before uploading your application form.



5. Get the license key file by email
Registration center will send you an approved license key file (*.lic) by email within 24 hours. Upon receiving the license key file, please click "Import a license" in the "License Control" dialog, then select the license key file to import. After completing the license checking procedure, your MEGA NVR 2.2 is successfully installed.
