I have a GV1240 system, and I am using a controller with a PTZ camera. Also I am using a zoom camera. I use 8.11 version software.

The issue that I am having is that when I set up a ptz camera with the pattern, it works 1 or 2 days, then it stop touring. When I look at GV com box, the center light flashes, and the one to the right should be on, but it is off. So what I do is unplug the USB and reset the com box, then it is working. Then it work for day and half, and the problem comes out again.

I get no error message with the Geovision software.

Can you confirm couple things for me:

when you refer to the right LED it should be power. When the power is off, does the

The one closed to the green connector.

How do you connect the controller to the GV COM?

From the PTZ I am going into a controller, and then to RS 485. From the controller, it is going out into the Com box, without any 120 resistent. It is a joystick controller to the GV Com box by using RS 485. From Com box to PC I am using USB.

If the power led is off, there is no way the middle led is working.

The power led should be always on. If the power led is off, then all the led should be all off.

It is possible that power led stays on.

The flashing middle LED is normal.
While I am doing tour, there is no flash. If the tour is interrupted, then the LED is flashing.

When the tour stops, are you able to control the menu control?

It appears there is a signaling conflict with the PTZ controller and the GV software. The GV-COM is designed to allow a user to control a PTZ through the GV main system software by converting the RS-485 connection from the camera to a RS-232 or USB port on the DVR server.

Try connecting the PTZ camera directly to the GV-COM and controlling the camera through the GV software. If you wish to use the controller, eliminate the use of the GV-COM and have the PTZ connected directly to the controller.
