Just curious if anyone has noticed a similar problem.

We have several D12 180 view cameras installed at a customer's site. In all instances, selecting either Left, Right or Both views gives a marked decrease in image quality. Doesn't matter if your Browser selection is Javascript, Java or Active X (though Active X is the sharpest of the three). Selecting 180 View gives a very clear, sharp picture on both lenses.

Might be missing a setting somewhere but I've tried everything I could think of to remedy the situation. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Note:
The focal lengths of MOBOTIX lenses do not reflect the actual focal length of the lenses, but the focal length ( Lxx mm) converted to 35 mm camera format. For example, the MOBOTIX Super Wide-Angle lens has an actual focal length of 4 mm. This would be the equivalent of L22 on a 35 mm camera. This lens is thus called L22.

Since the image sensors in digital cameras have different sizes, converting to 35 mm camera as a known format provides for better comparing the image formats and the fields of vision of the different lenses. Another benefit is that you can easily set a 35 mm camera (analog or digital) to the same focal length (Lxx) to obtain the same field of vision. This approach greatly facilitates lens selection.

Most MOBOTIX camera models can be equipped with individual lens combinations as requested.

M22M Camera Series

The M22 IT cameras come complete with a standard lense (L22 super wide angle). The M22 Sec cameras can be ordered without lens or with any available lens. Lenses can be easily retro fitted after installation.

Any additional lenses ordered will be packed separately and charged at a rate of EUR 60 net. They can be installed individually directly on location.

M12D Camera Series
For the M12 models, the lenses have been factory-preset and locked (glued) in place (exception L135) ensuring optimum focus during the complete camera life cyle. This gives the camera extra robustness and prevents changes in focus due to wind-induced shaking for example. This also means that the lenses can only be focused at the factory.

Installing a lens (L43/L135) at a later date costs a flat rate of EUR 200 net (EUR 300 net for both lenses!). This includes the new lens and the installation costs.

D12D Camera Series
All the MOBOTIX lenses listed below can be used and installed directly on location.

Before purchasing the camera, the buyer can indicate which combination of lenses he would like. The sensor boards with the lenses are pre-adjusted in the factory, so that they can be installed easily on installation.

You can use the following order numbers to indicate which lenses you would like to order.

Note: In the color sensors, the infrared CUT filter is NOT in the lens, but rather already installed in the lens casing in the camera.

All the lenses can be used for recording images either during the day or at night. Depending on whether the camera is to be adjusted for recording images in light or dark surroundings, the lenses have to be ordered along with a day sensor (color sensor with infrared blocking filter) or with a night sensor (black-and-white sensor without the infrared filter). For the L22 Super wide-angle lens, for example, the day version has the order number D22, while the night version is order no. N22.

Here you will find detailed information about lens options.

The following lenses are currently available:

Please register at this link, sign the NDA then you can download Vivotek SDK.
http://www.vivotek.com/support/sdk.php

VIVOTEK's Software Development Kits (SDK) provide tools, documentation, and code samples that allow you to take full advantage of VIVOTEK's technological advances. We offer two complete profiles to help you develop your applications, High Profile and Main Profile.

Main Profile SDK is a combination of several independent DLLs (Dynamically-Linked Library), which are written with the C programming language; its interface is also a C interface.

Operated on both the Linux and WinCE/Windows operation systems, Main Profile SDK has different functional components, each with its own specific purpose and capability. For example, some components support the function of transmitting audio and video data, while others are designed to decode video and audio data. Such flexibility allows programmers to build up programs with the needed components

Programmers have to spend relatively more effort when writing specific functions. For example, when connecting to the streaming server (Network Camera or Video Server) and requesting media data from the server, programmers can configure the decoding processes for the video and audio, the optional methods, and even the time display.

This SDK is under "Non-disclosure agreement" protection. The SDK can be available after the NDA is signed.

If you are interested to get the SDK, please register first! If you already had an account name, please login and click "Main Profile (Low-level SDK)" to fill out the "VIVOTEK Software Partner Information Form". Manager will check your purpose and your qualification in the form. If you pass the authentication, he will contact you. Thanks.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

High Profile SDK, written with Main Profile SDK, is composed of two parts. One is the Vitamin control; the other is the MediaPlayback. Both are a type of ActiveX Control.

Vitamin control, developed to connect to the VIVOTEK network cameras or video servers, can display decoded video and audio and/or record video data. It is an integrated component with full functions and contains the most generic parts of Main Profile SDK.

MediaPlayback, on the other hand, is used to playback the video and audio, recorded by the ST3402 or the Vitamin control, from the database.

Therefore, for programmers who need a quick build up program to control and view VIVOTEK's products, the Vitamin control will be the easiest method to do so. However, flexibility and efficiency will be relatively lower.

Note:
ActiveX Control, used to denote reusable components of the software, is based on Microsoft Component Object Model (COM). Generally speaking, the program can only be developed with languages supporting COM, such as VB, Visual C++ or C# and operated on the Microsoft Windows operation system.

Guys,

This camera is way too dark even after adjusting to 85 or 100 brightness. At 100 it gets worse when the dark picture gets washed out. So far I’ve had problems with both 1431’s, one still is fuzzy won’t focus as well as the other cameras and this one which is just dark. Best bullet camera I got was the first 1231 I bought but then these disappeared from the web site. I see that they’re back now. If I has my druthers I’d trade the 1431’s in for 1231’s.
